Taking the step to see a counsellor can feel like a big deal. Whether you’ve been thinking about it for a while or something recent has brought you here, it’s completely normal to feel a mix of curiosity, nerves, and even relief.

Many people worry about what to expect in a first session. The truth is, counselling isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about creating a safe space where you can slow down, reflect, and explore what’s really going on for you.

In your first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. You can share as much or as little as you like. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling, what you hope to get from it, and discuss practical things like confidentiality, consent, and how we’ll work together.

There’s no pressure to be “ready” or to know exactly what you need. Sometimes the simple act of being heard without judgment can bring clarity and calm.

At Calectasia Counselling, I believe growth happens in small, steady steps. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you uncover insights and strengths that support your wellbeing.

If you’re thinking about booking your first session, know that it’s okay to start exactly where you are.
